who are we?
We have been guiding hunts and serving our guests for two decades.
Popa Duck Lodge is family owned and operated by Dean and Tawana Watson. It was originally established in 1998 by Tommy and Mary Lou Cunningham. Tommy was a retired Federal Game Warden who spent endless hours on and around the White River Refuge and surrounding areas.
In 2007, Dean and Tawana Watson were afforded the opportunity to purchase the lodge from Tommy and Mary Lou, so they could fully enjoy retirement.
Dean was born and raised on the farm in St. Charles, has always had a passion for duck hunting, and has guided on the Grand Prairie area for 25 years. Dean and our other experienced guides offer a combined total of over 100 years of hunting/guiding expertise and will do what it takes to offer the best outdoor hunting experience possible.
